About The Course

This documentary learning unit is structured to achieve the following specific objectives:
 Method-related: To provide a compelling learning experience that fosters a deep understanding of the abstract concepts of the Environment, Community, Sustainability, and Resilience, and how they intertwine.
 Content-related: By building a narrative around critical questions – How do environments, communities, sustainability, and resilience connect? What is social sustainability's relationship to sustainable development? What defines sustainable and resilient communities, and what are the roles of individuals and the collective? And finally, how do sustainability and resilience intersect socio-culturally? – this unit will illuminate for students the societal and cultural consequences arising from planning and design choices in our cities and buildings, particularly as these spaces contend with fluid, unforeseen, and escalating uncertainty.
