About The Course

In this unit, you will explore civic-public partnerships from the perspective of grassroots initiatives, urban commons, and community-driven urbanism. You will examine how civic actors articulate needs and claims, develop spatial tactics, build legitimacy, and negotiate with municipalities or other institutional actors. Through storytelling, case-based discussion, mapping exercises, role play, and a practical toolkit exercise, you will develop strategies for strengthening civic agency in planning processes.
