The PEDIA project is a large-scale energy efficiency initiative coordinated by the Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA), aiming to renovate 25 public school buildings across Cyprus. It focuses on deep energy upgrades—including thermal insulation, low-energy lighting, photovoltaics, and green shading—and the development of a replicable renovation methodology. The project is driven by EU-funded development assistance and hybrid funding models, ensuring both sustainability and replicability. Besides the technical interventions, PEDIA emphasizes school community engagement and awareness-raising activities on energy use, with the added challenge of conducting renovations while schools remain operational.
